everything forever

Its that time of year again.  NYFW is approaching.  I have my equipment reserved and my credentials confirmed.  FW is always my favorite season since I am into darker colour palates and layering but there were some highlights from last season and now that they are finally available for purchase I am reminded of some highlights from last season (well this season unless you are in the fashion industry).

Katie Gallagher is always a favorite and I look forward to her presentations.  SS13 she covered the runway with white sand and clothed the models is high cut swimsuits and white snake heels.  Both of her collaboration pieces really stood out to me.  one was the ear cuffs and the other is this belt she designed in collaboration with Francis Bitonti, the everything forever belt.

OVM by James Jean

James Jean does it again with his amazing jewelry line OVM.  I loved the dripping silver but now skulls and scapulas made of bone china! killing me!

what's on the menu tonight is ODD

tonight it will be enjoying an evening of movies and fab fashion at one of my favorite places: ODD in the LES.  If you haven't checked out Judson's brainchild I suggest doing so.

Always been a huge fan of Audrey Cantwell's leather designs.  Here is Ovate for FW 2012, La Grande Noirceur.

This season she has started branching out into menswear using the same dark draping aesthetic but a little less witchy for the boys.  

Truly beautiful and lust worthy pieces as always.

asher levine

It's that time of year again when I start getting the invites to fashion week.  A lot of them are nicely designed, but Asher Levine's always stand out as more conceptual and always more tactile.  Last sea on was a 3D printed claw.  This season the invite is printed on rubberized alien skin.  I just cannot stop touching it and plain with it.  I can't wait to see how he has used this material in his latest collection.

Designer Love: Chromat

I discovered Chromat's beautiful geometric cage pieces a year or so ago on a shoot I did as part of the Kat+Duck collaboration for BG Magazine.  Now that it is summer, Chromat has designed some really fun swim suits and of course the cage corsets for the S/S 2012 collection.

Love the Sisters of the Black Moon.  I discovered them recently when I saw their latest editorial.  They carry some of my favorite designers like Blood Milk and Ovate.

though I was super sad to find out the lemurian breastpiece I wanted was sold out...

I am happy to hear that Mother of London is finally opening a web store.  I have been a long term fan of the interesting asymmetrical, fetish, leather garments and accessories, but sad they were only really available for photo shoots.  Now I think I must go and by myself a few choice pieces!
