Mother mother

I am happy to hear that Mother of London is finally opening a web store.  I have been a long term fan of the interesting asymmetrical, fetish, leather garments and accessories, but sad they were only really available for photo shoots.  Now I think I must go and by myself a few choice pieces!

Designer Love: Gilding Primal Instinct

A little over a year ago my stylist friend turned me onto the work of Danielle Nicole Hills whose Gilding Primal Instinct jewelry and accessories line incorporates natural history elements with a macabre avant garde feel.  Her F/W 2012 collection, Executioner, stays true to her style, using laddered black gauze and metals she creates pieces that verge into the realm of fantasy.

Sharon Needles is ODD

ODD has teamed up with Sharon Needles to produce an awesome shirt line.  I am not normally a proponent of the endless t shirt offerings by countless fly by night short brands, but first I do like ODD and second, I am obsessed with Sharon Needles.  She keeps me tuning into RuPaul's Drag Race every Monday. No secret who I am rooting for... oh and I think I may have to buy my first t shirt in about seven years...

Bone Machine

NYC based designer, Abigail Stewart's F/W 2012 collection "Bone Machine" is named after the Tom Waits album of the same name.  Using white organza and brushed mohair her pieces take on an ethereal ghost like quality.

OVM

Ever wondered what happened to illustrator James Jean after he collaborated with Prada on their S/S '08 collection?  Well, he started OVM.  Besides scarves, books, and the occasional skateboard; he has been working on a jewelry line.  So far the first offering is a rhodium drips collection with bones and bats soon to follow.  Really nice work and I am definitely looking forward to seeing that the bones collection will be like.
