OVM by James Jean

James Jean does it again with his amazing jewelry line OVM.  I loved the dripping silver but now skulls and scapulas made of bone china! killing me!

Chaos to Couture

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute have announced that their next major spring exhibition will be themed 'Punk: Chaos to Couture'.  It's coming in May 2013, I know, such a long wait but its marked in my calendar already.
It's going to have six thematic galleries; "Rebel Heroes", "The Couturiers Situationists", "Pavilions of Anarchy and Elegance," "Punk Couture", "DIY Style" and "La Mode Destroy."  I am super excited!

designer love: ovate

Always been a huge fan of Audrey Cantwell's leather designs.  Here is Ovate for FW 2012, La Grande Noirceur.

This season she has started branching out into menswear using the same dark draping aesthetic but a little less witchy for the boys.

Truly beautiful and lust worthy pieces as always.

asher levine

It's that time of year again when I start getting the invites to fashion week.  A lot of them are nicely designed, but Asher Levine's always stand out as more conceptual and always more tactile.  Last sea on was a 3D printed claw.  This season the invite is printed on rubberized alien skin.  I just cannot stop touching it and plain with it.  I can't wait to see how he has used this material in his latest collection.

I heart Ab Fab

So I am not normally someone who goes ape over a celeb endorsing certain brands... HOWEVER... I am a huge Ab Fab fab from waaaaay back (yes I know I am dating myself here) but when Eddie and Patsy endorse an already fantastic jewelry designer like Alexis Bittar, well now, I'm sold!

And needless to say I am a big supporter of the resurgence and new episodes of Ab Fab.  Really made my olympics watching Patsy light her ciggy off the olypmic torch!

In addition, I am also quite keen on their latest look book for Resort 2012...  Beautiful desaturated, dimly lit with super shiny accents... all things I love in a good photograph.

Exhibition - Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations

I finally made it to the Met to see the "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversationsexhibition - very beautiful work indeed.  It was interesting to see such aesthetic and thematic similartities in their work but with very different goals and intentions behind each piece.

Though my favorite Schiaparelli piece was not on display since it is housed in the V&A in London - the skeleton dress which Dali helped her design for her Circus collection....
