Black Snow

Last night I found a little bit of San Francisco turn up in Manhattan. It was a non traditional fashion performance which was a refreshing change of pace from the usual runway catwalk. Personally, there were a lot of pieces I thought to be very wearable (I have always been a fan of overly large hoods and multiple straps) and made me feel like I was home, if not only for an hour or two...

Hans Bellmer

I have always enjoyed the doll work of Hans Bellmer. It is creepy and fascinating. I think I first saw his work at the Tate in London but never wrote the name down, but I kept on coming across his work. Now I can put a name to the exquisite doll forms.

Introductions

After much thought and a lot of non starts, I have decided to have one singular blog about all the things that I am interested in. At first it was going to be a foodie blog. Then it was going to be a fashion blog or an art blog or a photo blog or a NY blog. Instead of having each facet of myself contained in separate blogs, I decided the most logical and least frustrating (at least for me) is to have ONE blog and separate posts into categories. I realized this when I found myself returning to LiveJournal again and again since it was a sort of journal for my life and I didn't have to hunt for the right account, log in, and post; it was all in one place.

Here I am, Kat. I am a fashion photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. I shoot as part of a team, Kat+Duck. I am really into fashion design, cooking, photography of course), discovering strange places in the city, vintage anything, taxidermy and entomology, amongst many other things.
