No wait, it's Stranger & Stranger. These design guys are the same ones behind the fantastic Kraken Rum bottles and now beautifully designed and packages Absinthe (available to their Christmas list - of which I hope to be on at some point).
As everyone is prepping for fashion week and it is becoming harder and harder to book a model for a full day, show packages are circulating, the city is filled with tall lanky girls running frantically around town to multiple castings. As a photographer I do not get to receive the printed packages, but do check them out online to see the new models at my favorite agencies and try to think forward to next seasons editorials.
I am always impressed with Wilhelmina's design and packaging. Their package always includes a clever t shirt and tote. This year is a cheeky play on their name paired with some more classic design. Every season I see theses shirts and covet them (and I am not a t shirt wearer, but there is always an exception). Check out more of the package at Models.com
If anyone knows where I can get one..... hint, hint, hint.
This was the incredible design from the SS11 package. They shot all their girls wearing vintage metal shirts and included in the package was this SUPER AMAZING shirt. I do secretly love heavy metal.
This Lanvin AW 2011 ad has been going viral for about a day or so now. At first I saw the still of what looked like models doing synchronized dance moves. It is beautifully shot, the models look gorgeous, and there is definitely a really fun quality to it that I have come to associate with Alber Elbaz. I was however, rolling on the floor when I realized that I too know those dance moves, they are from the game Dance Central on the XBox 360! I am not sure if it is supposed to be intentionally recognizable. If so (and I hope it is) then a good bit of camp pop culture added into the overly serious game of fashion.
Looking through the internet trying to put together a proposal for our latest editorial I came across the work of Delfina Delettrez. She is a fourth generation Fendi, creating jewelry with the Fendi couture aesthetic while infusing it with odd and sometime macabre imagery. They are truly creative and even challenging pieces for the high end market.
When I first moved to New York about 2.5 years ago, I started doing sticky lips. This was actually an accident during a beauty shoot. Too much lip gloss was applied and it got caught. I loved the way it looked so much I try to over exaggerate the look and capture at least one sticky lip at the end of each beauty shoot.
This is the one that started it all...
Here is the continuation of this theme in my
